-Early-arrival medical emergency coverage for covered individuals is included at no additional cost and starts from the date you enter Ontario but no earlier than 1 month from the regular start date of your coverage. For example, if your study term begins on September 6, 2022 your CIHIP medical emergency coverage start date would be:

a. If you arrive in Ontario on August 10, 2022 – CIHIP emergency only coverage begins on August 10, 2022; regular CIHIP coverage begins on September 1, 2022.

b. If you arrive in Ontario on July 31, 2022 or earlier – CIHIP emergency only coverage begins on August 1, 2022 and regular CIHIP coverage begins on September 1, 2022.

c. If you arrive late (after classes begin), CIHIP coverage begins on the date you arrive in Ontario.
